Master Plan/Perspective Plan




(A Roadmap to perfection)

The vision document elicits the parameters to be focused upon and draws a roadmap that would lead us to the way where the Institute should stand out for in the year 2024. Each institute has its own strengths and weaknesses; strengths to be explored to yield the maximum and weaknesses; weaknesses to be countered with and transformed into strengths. Eventually, an institution shall emerge as the educational hub, a centre of excellence and a symbol of pride for the region to which it belongs, so as to attract the prospective students from far and wide and fulfil the people’s aspiration, thus thereby solicit their support, patriotism for the progress and prosperity of the institution!

Perspective: The quality and relevance of the educational institution is based on, among others, the satisfaction of its students and parents!

Higher education across the globe has been undergoing enormous change in its pedagogy and delivery. No institute can afford to remain indifferent and isolated from the global impact. At the national level also, paradigm has been shifted from offering merely conventional academic programmes to skill based, learner cantered curriculum.  Owing to this, recently Central Government under the newly formed Ministry of Skills development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has launched  a flagship programme-“Skilling India Mission” and UGC in accordance therewith evolved a National Skills Quality Framework (NSQF) incorporating National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Quality Packs (QP); making it obligatory for the education providers to make all curriculums NSQF compliant.

Our college has undergone TWO cycles of accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). NAAC has made specific suggestions/recommendations that supposedly forms basis for further progression of the Institution.   Based on the feedback from the stakeholders viz. students, ex-students, parents; the views, versions and the deliberations at the statutory, academic, governing bodies of the guardian institute; inputs through social interaction; and with due conscience with the local, regional, national and global needs; characterised by the changes in higher education arena both at national and global levels, the present master plan is  formulated so as also to ensure planned and systematic growth, expansion, development and the progression of the institution. In essence, this document provides a ‘Roadmap’ for the institution to follow over a decade-long period: 2014-2024.

The master plan is comprised of two parts viz. Academic expansion and Infra-structural development to match the proposed academic expansion.

Part A: Academic Expansion

In view of the paradigm shift at the national policy framework in Higher education, the inter se preferences based on local, regional, national, global needs, the job potential/job market, potential to generate self employment,  the academic programmes, and courses of studies to be introduced in a phased manner over a span of TEN years shall be:

  1. Programmes to be introduced at under graduate level:

Under the faculty of Science and Technology

  1. Bachelor of Science (B Sc) in Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/statistics
  2. Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) in Botany/Zoology/Microbiology
  3. Bachelor in Home/Life Science ( In view of more enrolment of Girl students)
  4. Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS);

        Under the faculty of Commerce

  1. Bachelor of Business Administration (B B A)
  2. Bachelor of Commerce in Auditing/Banking/e-Commerce;

       Under Faculty of Arts

  1. Bachelor in Arts (Geography/Geology)
  2. Bachelor of Mass Media (B M M)

Programmes to be introduced at Post Graduation level

  1. Master of Arts in Economics, History, Hindi, Marathi, Geography
  2. Master of Commerce (Auditing/Banking)
  3. Master of Science in Chemistry (Organic/Analytical/Industrial);
  4. Courses to be introduced under Skills component

(To enhance the career prospects, self employment, professional skills commensurate with the national skills development policy and employability in general)

UGC programmes under vocational education viz Community college, Bachelor of Vocational courses (B. Voc)-

  1. Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Food Processing/packaging (Sector Skills Council in Agriculture)
  2. Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Beauty and wellness/Healthcare
  3. Voc in Food processing technology/Horticulture
  4. Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Functional English, E-Commerce, Hardware and Networking, Journalism, Mass media/Electronic Media
  5. Diploma in Forensic Lab Technician/Medical Lab technician
  6. Diploma in Remote sensing and global positioning

The affiliation for the courses can be sought from relevant Sector Skills Councils, UGC, and distance learning providers/ bodies. Setting up UGC sponsored study centres on epoch making thinkers- Rajarshi Shahu- Phule-Ambedkar, Krantisnha Nana Patil, Karmveer Bhaurao Patil, Gandhian philosophy/thoughts to instil human values, national integrity and responsible citizenry among the youths, owing to the inclination towards armed forces, police services, offering NCC would among others be an important initiatives.

Of late, educational institutions are recognized not only for good results but also for higher placement rates! In industry and business- prospective employers- there is a constant hunt for the best brain/talent, in turn, the job market demands ‘Best people for Best jobs’!

Simultaneously therefore, we need to focus on strengthening soft skills development centre, Pre-IAS/Entry in services centre, NET/SET coaching centre, Research and development cell, women development cell, career guidance and functional placement cell so as to enhance the employability and assist the youths for gainful employment.

Part B (Infra-structural development)

The availability and adequacy of the infra-structure has a deep and direct impact on the sustenance and enhancement of quality of education being imparted. To match the proposed academic expansion, to fulfil the requirement due to increased enrolment, and also to meet future needs, the development and augmentation of the infra-structure need to be undertaken systematically and in a planned manner. An Architectural Master Plan needs to be in place. Priorities would be therefore to create:

  1. Additional lecture halls, smart classrooms, Networked and wi-fi campus
  2. An independent Library, Canteen, Gymnasium
  3. Women’s hostel, Principal Lodge
  4. Well-equipped Laboratories for conducting programmes under faculty of Science and technology
  5. Setting up a virtual classroom equipped with broad band internet connectivity for the assured video streaming, video conferencing, video recording and broadcasting, visible ICT impact in academic and service delivery, conscious investment on ICT hardware
  6. Renovation and modernization of existing Buildings to facilitate free access to senior citizens, differently abled persons
  7. Play field Development, Indoor stadium, Auditorium, Focus on Sports infra-structure development that would include standard grass cover running track, playfields, indoor stadium
  8. Setting up health care centre
  9. Focus on proper sanitation, clean drinking water, recreational facilities, maintenance and up-keep of infra-structure, conducive and exciting learning environment, Campus beautification for conducive ambience
  10. Environment friendly/ Green and Smart Campus (conducting green audit/ certification need to be done through professional environment auditors with an emphasis on renewable/nonconventional energy, water harvesting/recharge, savage water recycle and reuse, waste/e-waste management, Bio-gas to fuel canteen, laboratory, No whehicle day, recycled paper use, paperless document/office practices to minimise use of paper, cash free money transaction practices.

[Initiatives like availing Transport facilities especially for Girls, Ramp and railings to staircase, building access points, Wheel Chairs, Walkers, modified toilets/washrooms to suit the special needs of the Differently abled persons, Braille signs for blinds will send positive message besides putting testimony on institutions sensibility towards girls and differently abled persons]

Regular maintenance and up-keep of the infra-structure to ensure secured, smooth and efficient conduct of academic activities, health and hygiene needs a special attention and adequate budgetary provision.

Important: Investing on training and orienting human resource to fit to the smart environment, professional work culture and good governance.

Resources/Funding for the infra-structural development and allied resources are to be explored from UGC, Rashtriya Uchcha Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), MLA/MP development funds, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) cess, Industrialists, Generous Donors.

Introduction of academic programmes commensurate with the national education policy framework, recently launched skilling India mission and development of matching infra-structure should go hand in hand. Selection/hiring of required trained staff/professionals to facilitate proper coaching/guidance in highly professional fields like IT, Sports, Art/Cultural fields would be equally important to buld brand image of the institution and overall progression of its inmates.

A strong, supportive and well placed student alumnus is an asset for any educational institution! Strengthening Alumni activities and making it functional would help the institute in many ways such as fund mobilization, placement assistance and branding in public domain.

Strengthening FEEDBACK/RESPONSE mechanism to facilitate regular inputs from all the stakeholders would make the system more vibrant, open, responsive and productive; and above all, would essentially ensure institute-people connect!

Note: Changes in the preferences/priorities warranted by the situations, availability of resources, may be done with due consultation with the faculty, utilizing departments and appropriate concurrence and support of the Governing council.
