Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA)

The Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) is the foundational step in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council’s (NAAC) accreditation process for higher education institutions (HEIs) in India. This process determines an institution’s readiness for accreditation, ensuring it meets the necessary eligibility criteria before undergoing a comprehensive assessment. HEIs are required to submit the IIQA online, providing essential data such as the institution’s name, establishment date, affiliation status, recognition proofs, and compliance certificates. NAAC reviews these submissions and communicates acceptance or rejection within ten days. Upon acceptance, institutions must submit a Self-Study Report (SSR) within 45 days. The IIQA process is mandatory for all institutions seeking NAAC accreditation and can be undertaken at any time during the year. If an IIQA application is rejected, institutions are allowed up to two additional attempts within the same fee structure to address and rectify the highlighted issues.

This structured approach ensures that only institutions meeting the statutory requirements proceed to the detailed accreditation stages, thereby upholding the quality and integrity of higher education in India.
