TEACHER GUARDIAN SCHEME

The ‘Teacher Guardian Scheme’ is a unique initiative aimed at fostering a nurturing and supportive academic environment for students. By assigning a dedicated faculty member as a mentor, the scheme ensures that students receive personalized guidance to address their academic, personal, and professional challenges. This programme bridges the gap between students and teachers, creating a strong bond that promotes overall well-being, academic success, and character development. It embodies the institution’s commitment to holistic education by fostering a culture of care, trust, and mutual respect.

We have initiated for implementation of a ‘Teacher Guardian Mentoring Scheme’ in our college to ensure that every student has a particular teacher who mentors and monitors the academic performance as well as the well-being of the student and communicates regularly with the parents, to apprise them of their ward’s performance and other related matters.

The ‘Teacher Guardian’ regularly interacts with the students and helps them feel comfortable on the campus. In particular, the TG scheme is aimed to assist the students in their studies and monitor their performance regularly. For every group of 20-25 students, one teacher is assigned. The name and contact number of the respective TG’s are to be communicated to the parents so that they can interact for any assistance and information desired.

In addition, there is a provision for a ‘Counsellor’ who can assist students if they are facing stress and are getting mentally disturbed.

The specific responsibilities of TGs are as follows:

  • TG will maintain all the records of students, such as attendance, marks/grades obtained in previous examinations, achievements, extra-curricular activities, and contact numbers/ addresses of the parents in the format provided.
  • TG will do all the follow-up regarding the attendance of the students under his command.
  • TG will monitor the academic performance of the students and shall pay special attention to the slow learners.
  • TG will send letters to parents regarding academic performance and attendance within Ten days of the completion of each term.
  • In case of serious problems/ issues/ grievances/ concerns, TG shall report the matter forthwith to the Principal for immediate and timely redressal.
  • TG will pay special attention to the differently abled students and their special needs.
  • TG will assist students in getting scholarships, and financial and other aid entitled under various schemes.
  • In sum, TG will provide parental mentoring to the students through establishing one-to-one communication and rapport to make them comfortable and stress-free on campus.
