FACILITIES FOR DIFFERENTLY-ABLED STUDENTS

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students, with a particular focus on those with disabilities. To support differently-abled students, we offer a range of facilities and services designed to meet diverse needs. Our commitment is reflected in the comprehensive facilities and services we provide to ensure equal access to education and campus life.

Accessible Infrastructure:
  • Ramps and Handrails:
    • All academic buildings, libraries, and recreational areas are equipped with ramps, and wide doorways to ensure easy access for students with mobility impairments. It is beneficial for facilitating easy movement for students with mobility challenges.
  • Library Location:
    • The library is located on the ground floor of the college building for the convenience of physically challenged students. Separate space in Library IT Section provided for PwDs.
  • Specialized Restrooms:
    • Restrooms designed for wheelchair users with other necessary equipment are available in the campus.
  • Accessible Washroom:
    • Dedicated washroom designed to accommodate the needs of differently-abled students is available in the campus.
  • CCTV Surveillance:
    • Close Circuit Television system has been installed for the security purpose across the college campus.
  • Designated Parking:
    • Designated parking spaces are available near building entrances for differently-abled students.

    Assistive Technologies:
  • Adaptive Learning Tools & Technology:
    • We use assistive technology like Screen Reading and Magnifier Software (NVDA- Non-Visual Desktop Access version 2020.3) to facilitate the blind persons through which they can operate the computer system and access the online resources easily.
  • Accessible Digital Content:
    • Course materials, including lecture audio-notes and multimedia resources, are available in accessible formats to accommodate various learning needs.
  • User-friendly Web Portal
    • The User-friendly Web Portal of college and library has been designed for easy access for blind and low-vision students.

    Academic Support Services
  • Academic Assistance:
    • Our dedicated support staff ensures that academic assessments and teaching methods are tailored to each student’s requirements.
  • Assistive Services:
    • We offer counselling, academic support, and other assistive services tailored to the needs of differently-abled students as needed.
  • Special Reading Material for Blind/ Low-Vision Students:
    • The Braille Magazine, Audio Notes, e-Texts are available for the blind students that can be accessed through mobile and computer.
