INSTITUTIONAL FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The New Education Policy 2020 announced on May 12, 2020, envisions the integration of main-stream education with vocational education & industry, a business-focused approach; creating entrepreneurship-oriented programmes which will lead to an entrepreneurial revolution; with a focus on research & innovation by setting up academic industry and start-up incubation centres technology development centres. The policy ensures a complete overhaul and re-engaging of the higher education system to deliver high-quality education with equity and inclusion.

The institution believes that NEP 2020 has a direct relevance and bearing on ‘Self-Reliant

India’s Mission (SRI) is to make the economy stronger and sustainable, having its focus on innovations and start-up ecosystems of the country.

The Pillars of the SRI Mission are supported by 4 ‘E’s viz. Education, Employability, Employment and Entrepreneurship. Thus, NEP 2020 places focus on bringing a paradigm shift in Higher Education to Boost the Self-Reliant India Mission.

To make it happen, the economy and education need to be juxtaposed, that is education should lead to employability, and employability should make employment possible and facilitate entrepreneurship.

Our institute is known for its quick response to emerging national issues and policies. The Institute’s specific initiatives towards the realization of NEP’s embedded objectives are:

The Institution’s internally evolved, 6″ Core Value: Equipping Learners with Specialized Knowledge & Skills in the field of Emerging Professions

A paradigm shift from unemployment to gainful and sustainable employment- A paramount and pragmatic solution to contemporary monumentally plagued Higher Education!

Making conventional degrees worth employable by embedding them in a capsule of self-designed modular Professional Skills development programmes in emerging fields- International trade and GST Law, offering rewarding, gainful and sustainable career opportunities for its students- Institutional academic incubation; that resulted in securing gainful and sustainable employment in leading industries/Export-Import ventures immediately upon pursuing a degree with professional skills, with the placement rate of 84% of the first outgoing batch.

Moreover, the Institutional 6th Core Value has a direct bearing to:

  • Fostering global competencies and
  • Demonstrating our Quest for Excellence

To promote research innovation, and the construction of knowledge, the institute executed 30+ MOUs and linkages of which 15 MOUs are with leading institutions, to harness an identity-academic interface, by way of conducting experimental learning sessions, practical, exposure to industrial processes, practices.

In alignment with the NEP 2020, the institute has formulated its ‘Future Plan’ that includes:

  1. Owing to encouraging success even in the initial stages, the institution intends to expand the scope of the professional skills development programmes- International Trade and GST Law, by upgrading them to the level of degree programmes in an autonomous setup for which the institution is aspiring in the near future.
  2. Introducing more NSQF-compliant professional skill development programmes of inter/multi-disciplinary nature, allowing multiple entries and existing in the emerging fields leading to sustainable employment and entrepreneurial development.
  3. Introducing need-based post-graduate programmes, especially in Science and Commerce disciplines.
  4. Owing to the significant enrolment of female students, introducing full-time programmes in life sciences, and women’s studies for female students.
  5. Given the rural background and its situatedness, conducting programmes, expands the spectrum of its much-acclaimed ISR Project by harnessing the Academia-Extension interface.

(To match the phenomenal Academic Expansion)

  1. Augmenting the existing infrastructure that includes classrooms, laboratories, hostel, multi-purpose hall, Sports facilities, by Mobilization of funds from UGC, RUSA and other funding agencies, Philanthropies.
  1. Exploring resources through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) after proving our worth as the corporate world sees to it that the CSR funds shall ensure the end use.
  1. Augmenting, upgrading and consolidating IT infrastructure, and deploying IT enabled processes in institutional functioning- both in academics and administration to attain the desired visible impact.

The institute has already moved on in its preparations for the ensuing NEP 2020, stood out for its distinctive character and practices attracting students from far and wide, altering the enrolment trend- Urban to Rural.

The Institute shall strive to adopt an innovative ecosystem by creating academic incubations, which shall eventually emerge as an educational hub on the canvas of Higher Education.
