ABOUT THE SANSTHA
Shri Mudhaidevi Shikshan Sanstha, Deur
Nestled along the serene banks of the Vasana River in the hilly terrains of Deur, Shri Mudhaidevi Shikshan Sanstha stands as a beacon of educational transformation. Established in 1956 with the guiding principle of Bahujan Hitay (For the welfare of the masses), the Sanstha has been pivotal in reshaping the educational landscape of Deur and its neighbouring regions.
The Primary School established in the British regime in 1871 was the only source of education in this drought-prone zone of the north Koregaon Tehsil in the Satara District of Maharashtra. There were no other means of higher education in the village, until 1953, and the village youths had no other choice other than farming or working as a Mathadi (labour) in Mumbai. However, in 1953, some learned youngsters, with zeal to transform the native village, formed the Gram Jeevan Vikas Mandal. These dreamers soon started collecting funds by the means of donations, stage performances, arranging sports tournaments, screening film shows, etc. Later on, in the June, 1956, Shri Mudhaidevi Shikshan Sanstha, with its motto Bahujan Hitay (for the welfare of the masses), opened the doors of knowledge to Deur and its adjoining villages in the form of Shri Mudhaidevi Vidyamandir, the first high school in its vicinity.

With over six decades of educational excellence, the Sanstha currently caters to more than 2,000 students across various institutions, including:

The Sanstha is dedicated to continuous growth, with plans to introduce additional post-graduate courses, diploma programmes, and certificate courses to meet evolving educational demands. Infrastructure enhancements, such as a proposed Ladies Hostel, Indoor Sports Gymnasium, and a dedicated Library, are also underway to enrich the student experience.
